Large dog breeding
Large dog breeding is the same as regular dog breeding, but it consists of breeding two large dogs together in the hopes of producing a litter of puppies that will one day grow up to be large dogs. Large dogs are often considered dogs that weigh over 35 to 40 pounds. Large dog breeds include such breeds as Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Great Danes, St. Bernards, and many others. Just as in regular dog breeding, large dog breeding consists of simply bringing a female in heat with an intact male; Mother Nature covers the rest. The actual mating part of dog breeding requires no human interaction, for the most part. After the actual mating, however, a person does have to care for the female while she is pregnant. The female dog owner will have to take the dog to vet as well as help her birth the puppies. Because of this extra work for the female dog owner, he or she often gets most of the proceeds from the sale of the puppies. In fact, oftentimes, the female dog owner will get all of the proceeds, while a male dog owner will simply get a stud fee. Though large dog breeding is incredibly similar to db in general, there are a few extra risks with it. As with all dog breeding, the risk of genetic mutations is much higher than allowing dogs to mate with whomever they like. This is because the genetic line for the dogs is kept to a limited amount of variation, increasing the chance of a bad gene continuing to show up. This risk of genetic mutation includes a lot of diseases and ailments that are very common with large dog breeding. These ailments and diseases include hip dysplasia, heart problems, eye problems, and even deafness. Many times dog breeders will nip these problems in the bud by not breeding animals that display any such qualities, but the chances of a full-bred dog, especially a large one, inheriting such conditions are much higher than in mixed breed dogs. Thus, if you are interested in a large dog puppy that is full bred, make sure to buy him or her from an accredited person in large dog breeding. These people will have certifications available for your perusal. Additionally, accredited people in large dog breeding will show true caring and feelings for their puppies. They may ask you a lot of questions to ensure that their puppy is going to a good home. Additionally, they may even ask to come and visit your home a few weeks after you have received the puppy.
